En quête

Guy Woueté

Welcome to a different world. A world without work contracts, hunger and money worries. A world with good healthcare and quality education. A world without communism and capitalism. A world where the earth is central again and we listen to her.

En quête is an experiment that makes us think about work, the body and public space as cornerstones for a more sustainable world. Do we really need to fill our lives with work? Why does our work define our identity? Why are we so dependent on our jobs? And why do so many abuses of work continue to occur in our world - from gruelling work contracts to physical and mental exhaustion?

Artist Guy Woueté welcomes us to a different world. A world in which we have detached ourselves from our work as an exchange of time and money. He occupies the public space with banners as an act of resistance against the alienation of work. And doing so, he invites us to think about the position of work in our lives today. In this way, he calls on us to think about a world that turns against our eternal desire for more.
