Sunny and spectacular, the festive opening of the exhibition 'Global Imaginations' on Friday 26 June in De Meelfabriek Leiden was a big succes. Over 600 people enjoyed speeches by Meta Knol (director Museum De Lakenhal), Carel Stolker (rector magnificus Leiden University) and Wayne Modest (head research Center for Material Culture, National Museum of World Cultures) and the artworks by 20 artists from all continents.

Global Imaginations takes place on the occasion of the 440 year anniversary of the Leiden University and is organized by Museum De Lakenhal, together with the National Museum of World Cultures and LeidenGlobal.
