Public domain is a term used to indicate that works are no longer protected by copyright and related rights. In the EU, this is the case when the maker has been deceased for at least 70 years. In that case, there is no rightful claimant and there is no permission needed to use the work.

Een beeldhouwwerk opgebouwd uit aan elkaar gelaste staaldraden. Er is een mensfiguur te zien en een weefgetouw. De mensfiguur loopt van het weefgetouw weg, maar blijft ermee verbonden doordat de draden waaruit de figuur is opgebouwd aan het weefgetouw vastzitten. Met zijn linkerhand steunt hij een zware last, die hij op zijn schouders draagt. Met zijn rechterhand steunt hij op een stok.
