Peter Willemse (als kunstenaar)

Peter Willemse begon te schilderen in een fotorealistische stijl met vaak licht absurde, surrealistische taferelen. Vanaf de jaren '80 werd zijn toets steeds losser en sinds de jaren '90 richt hij zich vooral op het schilderen van landschappen. In het begin zijn het gefantaseerde landschappen met droomachtige visioenen, zoals in dit schilderij. Vervolgens maakte hij strandgezichten in Portugal en sinds enige tijd werkt hij onder de naam Pierre Guillaume aan impressionistische weergaven van lokaal strandplezier in Indonesië. Naast zijn vrije werk is Willemse actief als restaurator van schilderijen. Dit werk doet hij onder andere voor Museum De Lakenhal.
