Make your own leporello: a sunny workshop inspired by the work of Jan Wolkers

At the end of the nineteenth century, there were painters who constructed their paintings using a technique of small dashes and dots for the first time. They called this Pointillism (‘point’ means ‘dot’ in French). Museum De Lakenhal has several landscapes that were painted this way. This summer you can also see some of them in the exhibition Wolkers Naturally - A Century of Wonder featuring work by Jan Wolkers. He painted spring, summer, autumn and winter with dots and stripes. Use them as inspiration to make your own leporello (paper folded in zagzag) about the seasons, or capture summer in a landscape of colorful dots.
